Art Bead Scene June Blog Tour

The June blog tour is out.  The comment on my Nighthawks earrings:

Angela Lund-Logan interpreted the scene with her Nighthawks earrings with wire criss-crossing like the paths of these characters intersecting at this street corner, and the vibrant green glass handmade beads echo the lines in the window. A very lovely design incoporating her own handmade enameled ear wires too!

Thank you for the very nice comments.  I look forward to seeing July's inspirational piece.

Nighthawks earrings

These are my submission to the June ABS challenge which are approximately 63mm in length from the curve of the earwire.  The copper earwire is 20 gauge copper that I made and torched enameled.  I selected the wire wrapped drops (from Michael's) as I thought they represented the non-linear paths of the patrons at the diner in the inspiration piece: Nighthawks (1942) by Edward Hopper.

I selected the green beads by Julie Miller (juliemillerglass.com) as I saw green in several places in the inspiration piece.  The lines on the circle beads again represent the paths one's life can take.  I chose glass beads as they are fragile like life.
