November ABS entry

All of the pieces are from Earthenwood studios.  I had just received my shipment and these pieces matched the palette.  I thought that the three rectangle pieces represented the wall we use to divide ourselves from the world around us while the inspiration piece combined the worlds.

I handmade the clasp.

October ABS Blog tour

The October ABS Blog tour is out.

The comment on my piece:

"Love the use of metal wire in this piece by Angela Lund-Logan. The earthy colors of the pendant really call to mind the main circle in the painting. And the use of the intertwined wire would make Kurt Schwitters happy!"

I have created matching earrings and bracelets in a couple of different sizes with the remaining pearls.

October ABS Challenge piece

This is my submission for the Art Bead Scene blog October challenge.

The necklace is one continuous piece of 16 gauge antiqued brass colored wire.

Focal is from Earthenwood studios that I picked up at the Milwaukee Bead and Button show. 

I wire wrapped the 16 gauge wire with 26 gauge wire to secure the pearls.

I handmade the fishhook clasp.

September ABS Blog Tour

The September blog tour is out.  The comment on my submission:

"Angela Lund-Logan made a beautiful necklace using sumptuous satin ribbon and a special rose pendant. I really want to reach out and touch the soft ribbon and I love the bail that she made to hang the pendant. Very clever!"

September ABS challenge piece: Foxy Flora

My challenge piece for September is called Foxy Flora.  It is made with brown ribbon, 16 gauge amber parawire, 20 gauge copper wire, and Jolee's jewels amber bicones.  I used 26 gauge wire to attach the rose made by beetreebyme.

Fall Fashion Trends

It is that time of year again.

Baroque.  Now you can look like a tapestry.  Sorry, not a fan.


Sci-fi:  Liquid-like metallics combined with modern silhouettes.  These are a bit odd.



Asian influence: A mash up of marital art influences, kimono tops, and cherry blossom prints.


Black and White: Geometric feel with a touch of surrealism



Pantsuits in every shape and color.  Single breasted, double breasted, and tuxedo.  Some are metallic and some are floral prints.


70's prints: retro silhouettes, sheath dress, and psychedelic prints.


Neo-Goth: bondage inspired details (PVC) with Victorian elements (lace).


Bejeweled.  Nothing more needs to be said.


Bordeaux leather.  Since I am not a fan of reds, I do not think I will be partaking in this trend.


Military.  I am quite impressed with this.  Victoria Beckham has a very nice black and gray dress.

August challenge submissions

This month, I submitted two pieces to the Art Bead Scene challenge.

Wave of Pearls

My art bead was from O'gosh beads.  I purchased the blue swirl lampwork bead from the O'gosh booth at the Milwaukee Bead & Button show in June.  The swirls on the lampwork bead reminded me of the ocean. The ivory pearls are 8mm. The necklace hangs at approximately 9.5"                      It is listed for sale, $20, on my esty page.

After completing this piece, I thought it was too simple.  I decided to add a second strand to the piece.  I added the twisted wire jumprings so I could easily attach the second strand.  I handmade the stainless steel clasp after the second strand idea failed.  I then decided to make the second strand into its own necklace.

Heart on a String seemed like a very fitting name for this piece.  I strung off-white pearls onto black ribbon.  The smaller pearls are held in place by knots.  The larger pieces can be adjusted to fit perfectly with any neckline.

The blue glass heart is from Julie Miller.  I purchased this item from Julie's booth at the Milwaukee Bead and Button show.  The heart is secured with a double-ended antiqued copper headpin from C-Koop (purchased from their Bead & Button show booth). I secured the 8mm pearls with knots and then added the antiqued copper ribbon/cord ends. The lobster clasp fits nicely into the ribbon end.

From the end of the heart, the necklace hangs at approximately 13.5"
